Munich – the centre of medical tourism
More and more travellers from the Middle East decide for a journey to Munich
Munich, 22nd March 2010 - The city of Munich is the new Mecca for summer vacationers from the Arabic countries. More than 60.000 tourists from the Middle East visited Munich last year, for shopping reasons, but especially for medical examination.
Arabic guests come to Munich, as examined by the tourism office, “because their expectations of luxury and elegance are answered in the beautiful Bavarian city”. The orientalistic expert of Munich lists further reasons for the Arabic commitment to Munich, like the fact that it is a clean and secure city, with its traditions and palatial ambience, the city meets their travel demands. Further, it is a shopping location and the famous “Maximilianstrasse” provides the desired brands and products, while the males are generally satisfied with buying a new car at BMW.
Due to the high quality standards of the clinics and the variety of medical therapies, people of the Middle East increasingly travel to Munich, sometimes even for months, in order to occupy the safety of a good therapy outcome.
To adapt to the customs and traditions of the Arabic World, the clinics implement more and more services, like prayer rooms, separated for men and women, or Arabic food.
The Charles Hotel increasingly introduces programs or starts cooperation with companies, simplifying the stay of travellers from the Middle East and aims to provide the best possible service by putting strong emphasis on addressing to their guests’ backgrounds, customs and cultures with the intension of making them feel like being home away from home.
Arriving at their second home, The Charles Hotel’s guests will not have to abandon familiar flavours, as a native Arabian chef composes a menu of several traditional dishes, which are prepared under the provisions of the Arab world. In case of preferring privacy, an Arabic in-room dining menu offers courses, to make them experience pure delight and a journey to familiar flavours!
The Shisha is an important symbol of hospitality and an inherent part of the Oriental culture. The Charles Hotel adapts the Arabian custom of sociability and friendship and serves it, together with Arabian tea and coffee, in an exclusive Shisha lounge on the restaurant terrace, every day.
As cultural differences claim for certain regulations, a lady night spa has been established at the Charles hotel, where male guests are not allowed to enter the wellness area. Children hours are arranged at the Charles Spa every day. Besides the opportunity of using the Spa, a game room has been implemented, equipped among others with a Playstation III or a Nintendo Wii, to avoid boredom among the little guests.
In terms of meeting medical tourist’s demands, The Charles Hotel created cooperation with several organisations, clinics and doctors. A strong association with Europe Health, for example, an organisation caring for medical tourists from arrival until departure, provides the guest a high-end service and all round support. Further, The Charles Hotel keeps close contact with varied clinics and doctors to enable the guest a complete follow-up treatment outside hospital and in the familiar atmosphere of the hotel. Even special mattresses are provided in The Charles hotel, if requested or recommended by the doctor.
As desired, the Arabic employees of the hotel are always delighted to support in case of communication difficulties.
