Sir Rocco Forte Attends Topping-Out Ceremony in Munich
Ideally located for both business and leisure travellers, Rocco Forte's Munich hotel is within walking distance of the commercial district, historical sites, entertainment facilities and only a short journey on Munich's underground to popular shopping areas such as Maximilianstraße and Residenzstraße. It is also well situated for transport links, being close to the city's main train station, The Hauptbahnhof, with the Franz Josef Strauss airport lying just 28 km to the northeast of Munich. Despite its city centre location, the eight-story hotel is a peaceful retreat with tranquil views.
A luxurious new-build, the Munich property will provide the same attention to detail, exceptional levels of comfort and personal service for which The Rocco Forte Collection has become so well known. All 132 rooms have views over the Old Botanical Gardens and measure 40 square metres, with nine Junior Suites (40 square metres), 18 Master Suites (70 square metres) and a Presidential Suite (100 square metres), perfect for private dinner parties and receptions.
The design will be overseen by Olga Polizzi, The Rocco Forte Collection' Director of Design. The hotel will have its own personality and will reflect its location with the use of original paintings by Munich's celebrated 19th century artist Franz von Lenbach in the bedrooms.
The hotel also comprises an Italian restaurant with a private dining room; a bar; seven conference rooms equipped with state-of-the-art technology and benefiting from natural light; a ballroom; and a spa with sauna, swimming pool, five treatment rooms offering a range of wellness and beauty treatments and a gym with all the latest cardiovascular machinery.
Rocco Forte's Munich property is one of two German properties currently under development – the other being Berlin's Hotel de Rome scheduled to open in autumn 2006. A third property, Villa Kennedy, opened in Frankfurt on 1 March 2006 making The Rocco Forte Collection the country's market leader with regard to luxury hotels.
Accommodation rates for "Five-star Easter Kids" start at £180 per room per night on a bed and breakfast basis for an executive room, with an additional supplement of £35 per child aged 3-12 (children under three are complimentary). Valid Friday 7th to Monday 24th April 2006, subject to availability.
