The Charles Hotel

The Rocco Forte Collection won two awards at last night’s Prix Villegiature ceremony in Paris, when The Charles Hotel in Munich topped the “Best Hotel Architecture in Europe” category and Brown’s Hotel in London received the “Best Service in a European Hotel” award.

Other nominations at the prestigious awards, which are chosen by a jury of 20 top journalists and three leading hotels, included: “Grand Prix of the Best European Hotels” (Brown’s Hotel); “Best Bar in a European Hotel” (Brown’s Hotel’s Donovan Bar); and “Best Bathroom in a European Hotel” (Hotel de Russie in Rome).

The Charles Hotel’s General Manager, Frank Heller, comments: “We are thrilled to win the award for Best Hotel Architecture, particularly as The Rocco Forte Collection is so renowned for the style and design of its hotels. The Charles Hotel is one of only two new-builds in the Rocco Forte portfolio and we have had tremendous support from the local market since we opened in October 07; I like to think this award confirms that the hotel is a welcome addition to the city of Munich.”

These are the latest in a recent rush of awards for The Rocco Forte Collection. This  month alone has seen Sir Rocco become the second only Briton to be inducted into the University of Houston’s illustrious Hospitality Hall of Honour (after his father Lord Charles Forte), and an incredible nine of its 11 hotels featured in Forbes Traveller’s list of 400 best hotels and resorts in the world.
